What should I post?
Run across some particularly gnarly source code? Once you’ve refactored it, post the original and updated code to this site along with a brief explanation of why you changed it. By sharing your knowledge, you’re not only helping us build a collaborative guide to developing better software, but you’re also building your reputation.
Take advantage of the wealth of knowledge that this community has to offer. Have some code that technically works fine but you’re still getting a funky vibe from it? Post it here and let the community take a crack at it. Chances are a fresh perspective will yield a better solution or at least get you started down the right path.
Before posting any source code, please make sure to check out our source code guidelines.

What shouldn’t I post?
Don’t post any content that could be considered argumentative or inflammatory. In short, don’t be a jerk.

It’s also important to be responsible and use common sense when you’re posting code. Don’t post anything that could get you fired or into legal trouble with your employer. Do yourself a favor and check out these guidelines before posting.
Is this site geared toward C# (or Ruby or Perl or Python or ColdFusion)?
No, this site is not geared toward any specific development language or platform. All developers, regardless of experience level or technical background, are encouraged to contribute.

I can’t add a picture to my profile. What gives?
You can’t add a picture to your profile, but you can use a Gravatar. A Gravatar is a picture that follows you around from site to site appearing next to your name in comments, posts, etc. You should consider picking one up if you haven’t already. All the cool kids have Gravatars.
How do I report abuse?
In order to maintain an atmosphere of community and mutual respect, it is important to treat others how you would like to be treated. If you find that any user is using profanity or otherwise being abusive to you, another user, or the site in general, let us know. Please include the name of the user causing the problem and a brief description of the nature of the abuse. Your message will be treated confidentially. If it is determined that a user is acting inappropriately, they will be summarily dropped like third period French.
